If we look back at the history of the western world, more specifically Europe, we see that it was predominantly the religious (or holy) people such as the nuns, monks and priests that attained the power of levitation. Perhaps these were not the only people to have achieved levitation, and there were most probably some others outside of religious circles, but the ones we shall briefly discuss here are the ones who have been officially recorded by the various religious churches and authorities at that time. However, just because their (levitation) accounts were recorded hundreds of years ago, does not mean that I take these levitations as fact, because I always retain a healthy sense of skepticism whenever researching any supernatural abilities, as should you too.
Now, let us suppose that these levitations by these various nuns, monks and priests are true, and that they did actually happen all those hundreds of years ago, it would make sense that these particular supernatural abilities were evident at that time, because modern-day technology, such as we have today, did not exist at that time. This meant that there were far less distractions in life, and this would allow these religious people to focus completely on their devotion, prayers, and other such religious activities, that would bring them closer, perhaps, to God. And of course, the closer one is to God, the closer one is to the supernatural power that is responsible for miracles.
Even though in this present day and age, where we still have monks, nuns and priests practicing their faiths and religions, why is it that there are no more reported levitations in the western world today? The answer is that either we have lost touch of what ‘true faith’ is, which may mean that the connection with God has been severed, or that the religious establishment is largely corrupt in its various ways, or finally, that there are just too many distractions in this modern technological age, that even monks, nuns and priests find it too difficult to separate themselves from technology, and too difficult to dedicate themselves completely in their devotion to God.
With all this in mind, it is quite understandable that the monks, nuns and priests who lived all those centuries ago, had an easier, or less difficult, time with their religious training and devotion. Those of us who are training in levitation and flight in the modern age of today, have to face and overcome a multitude of distractions seeking to lead us astray, at every turn, from our true path of the attainment of these coveted supernatural abilities.
In truth, we cannot blame modern technology and this modern age for the seeming decline in the number of people turning away from the path of true spirituality and true faith. Despite the distractions that we face in our lives today, we should continue to strive towards the attainment of levitation and flight, even though sometimes it may feel as though we are fighting a losing battle. The key, as always, is to have faith. Faith in oneself, and faith in the Higher Power that believes in us, even when our own belief in ourselves falters. Just have a little faith.
