Why do I say this? How do I know? I can’t say exactly, but when you know, you just know. It’s a natural intuitive feeling, and considering I’ve been training for levitation and flight for about 15 years already, I have a good understanding of the subtle energy and forces that would allow levitation to occur.
Water can support the body, so that the body can simply float, unassisted, and this is a fact of reality. I believe the exact same is true of the air. I believe the air can support the body, or rather, I believe the sensations of floating in the air using the power of the mind or consciousness, are the exact same feelings as floating in water.
When you understand that all is mind, and that everything in existence is made or comprised of mental energy (the same as reality is inside a dream), then you can float in both water and air, and floating in the air is no more difficult than floating in water. Floating in the air, or levitating, is just a matter of belief and knowing. Knowing you can do it, and just doing it.
If you are training for levitation and flight, I encourage you and suggest that you incorporate swimming/floating as part of your training, whether it’s in the ocean or in your local swimming pool. Being submersed in water, and feeling your body floating, I believe, can be incredibly beneficial for you to attain higher levels of understanding and awareness regarding actual real levitation and flight.
